Specific uses require special formulations of additives, such as antioxidants added to prevent polymer degradation during processing and oxidation of the finished product during use. Antistatic additives are used in many packaging grades to reduce the adhesion of bottles or packaging to dust and dirt.

Usually, when storing HDPE materials, it is required to keep away from fire and heat insulation. The warehouse should be kept dry and tidy.
